OUR DEAL STANDARDS

How SSD selects deals

SSD combines meaningful savings with product quality and shopper interest. These signals help prioritize deals; they do not guarantee that a product is right for every shopper.

The core signals

4.3+Customer rating

SSD generally prioritizes products rated 4.3 stars or higher when reliable rating data is available.

20%+Meaningful discount

Deals generally begin at 20% off a verifiable regular or recent price.

70/30Deal mix

The target mix is about 70% popular products and 30% strong discovery or value finds.

SSDConfidence Score

An internal signal that summarizes deal quality and available supporting information.

What contributes to SSD Confidence

  • Discount size and estimated dollar savings
  • Customer rating and review volume
  • Shopper interest or popularity signals when authorized data is available
  • Product relevance within its category and subcategory
  • Offer freshness, availability and retailer information

Relevant comparisons

“More deals like this” recommendations stay within the same product type. A shopper viewing shoes should see other shoe deals—not unrelated products from another department.

Important limitations

Retailer information can change quickly. SSD may not receive every signal for every product, and the Confidence Score is guidance rather than a promise of quality, availability or future pricing. Always confirm the final price and terms with the retailer.
